Volunteer
Would you like to be involved in The Lock Challenge and The Canal Spring Festival?
We are asking for new volunteers aged 16 and above who will enjoy having some responsibility and interacting with the public to help run these events. Volunteers will receive any relevant training and instruction on the day, we will match roles to suit individual skills and interests.
The Lock Challenge
We need volunteers to help us marshal the route; you could be stationed anywhere along the route between Stonehouse and Saul Junction and will be there to make sure the runners know where they are going. Shifts start at 8.30am and finish from about 1pm depending on where you are stationed along the route, full training will be given.
Canal Spring Festival
Shifts will run from 8am to 1pm and from 1pm to 6pm. We will provide a free lunch an event T Shirt. All the roles can give the volunteers a high level of responsibility, develop skills and self-confidence, allow interactions with the public and with a diverse range of enthusiasts who are passionate about what they are doing. As the event itself runs from 11am to 4pm all volunteers will be able to enjoy some of the festival as well as helping to make a great day for the community.
We are happy to provide a certificate of completion to any volunteers that would like one. Anyone that has a particular interest in event management, stage management or sound engineering please do get in contact, we have a few roles which have a bit more responsibility and the opportunity to gain some hands on experience within our highly experienced team.
